Our company at a glance

Ronny Ruider, born in 1979, is a passionate entrepreneur. After successful company succession, he has been the sole shareholder of PAKA Glashütter Pappen- und Kartonagenfabrik GmbH since March 2016 and sees this less as buying a company and more as acquiring a dream job for him. As a native of Dresden, it was also important to him, after various positions in Germany and abroad, to realize his desire to become self-employed in his home region.

His professional career began in 1998 with a degree in business administration at the vocational academy in Mannheim, specializing in retail, and Kaufhof Warenhaus AG as a practical partner. After another position in controlling at the company's headquarters in Cologne, he ended up in the Stuttgart region at the end of 2002 to work in marketing at the local Festool GmbH, a manufacturer of high-quality power tools. This was combined with an extra-occupational master's degree at the Steinbeis University in Berlin, majoring in general management.

At the age of 27, Mr. Ruider took the opportunity to help set up a new subsidiary for the company in the UK and spent almost 5 years getting to know life in England (Cambridge to be exact). From 2011 to 2014 he lived in Graz, Austria and worked as a branch manager/managing director for a plastics recycling company called dekura, which was then part of the Tönsmeier Group (now known as PreZero).

In 2015, contact was established via the IHK Dresden with the three company founders, who had privatized PAKA in 1992 from its existence as a VEB company. After his first job in late summer 2015, he started working as managing director of the PAKA Glashütte cardboard and cardboard factory on January 1, 2016 with the notarized takeover of the company on March 2, 2016. This makes PAKA one of the few former GDR companies still in existence that are in East German ownership.
